The Nursing Home Card Project frequently arranges singing groups to visit nursing homes in NYC.
If you would like to join in singing, please sign up on this document, which lists arranged dates for singing groups and instructions to arrange your own.
You can also reach out to the Activities Director at your local nursing home to organize a singing group of your own. Visitors and music always brighten the days of our beloved nursing home residents! ♡
Uplift the lives of Nursing Home residents IN PERSON by singing through the hallways of nursing homes! This is VERY important and healing for residents. Song transcends the pain of the body and the erosion of the mind.
These videos below show you the power music has on those who suffer with Dementia:

Here is how you can set up a singing event in your local nursing home:
Contact your local nursing home and ask to speak to the activities director. Tell him/her you would like to set up a singing group (It can be 2 people or more!) to bring songs to the residents. Please KEEP THE COMMITMENT. These residents look forward to your visits more than you could possibly know.
Watch NHCP founder, Rachel Bennett, and her Joyful Carolers spreading holiday cheer to seniors by caroling on the news!

Check out first hand in these videos below the smiles that singing brings to the elderly. It also brings a great sense of gratitude by helping those that may not have the means to the wonderful aspects of music and singing.
